The Opportunity

Tiki Kai was founded by local restaurateurs Brian Eldridge, Patrick Mescall, and Alex Osorio. Their goal was to bring a maximalist tropical escape to the Hermosa Beach pier, where guests could enjoy traditional tiki-style cocktails alongside a full-service dinner menu. 

JS2 joined to launch the concept with PR, partnerships, influencer collaborations, social content, and community management.

Our Work

JS2 secured opening coverage in outlets like Los Angeles Magazine, KTLA, KCAL, and Food & Wine, in addition to features in community outlets like The Daily Breeze and Easy Reader. Our team also hosted a pre-launch event for influencers and creators to capture and tease out the space’s eye-catching interior decor and enticing food and beverage options.

The Results

Tiki Kai opened its doors on the Hermosa Beach Pier in November 2025, with reservations booked several weeks out. JS2 coordinated professional photography to anchor in-house content, and worked with influencers prior to opening to encourage thoughtful storytelling on Day 1. Within its first months, Tiki Kai had more 11k followers in the Los Angeles/South Bay areas and beyond. Tiki Kai’s ongoing success has led to expanded service hours and a new brunch menu launching in Spring 2026.
